Haters Gonna Hate

Listening to a podcast while getting ready Monday morning, I heard these wise words from TD Jakes:

“Haters are a symptom you’re on the right track.

Haters are educators.

Sometimes, they point out deficiencies.

Haters are not always wrong.”

When’s the last time someone threw shade your way? Was there any weight to what they said? Did they call out a shortcoming you didn’t want to admit you had?

The saying goes: View every problem as an opportunity for growth; find a solution where there is none.

The same can be said for haters.

Don’t let what they say take your eyes off success (that’s ultimately what they’re trying to do, of course!). Instead, listen to what they have to say. Examine where you’re at. Is there room for improvement?

Don’t view the problem as a problem.

Maybe someone has questioned why you started a podcast, why you’re spending money on a marketing guru, why you need a personal assistant.

Your job is not to change the mind of the haters. Your job is to turn their negative energy into positive energy, “get to work” energy - to do whatever it is you need to do to take your business to the next level.

What can your haters do for you today?
