Overheard Isaac playing a Gary Vee clip on Monday afternoon. To sum it up, Gary explained the death of Blockbuster.

Picture it: all the Blockbuster execs, sitting around a table, examining “current” data and reports which showed why people liked to come to their stores and pick out a movie. Things like:

  • Customers enjoyed opening and closing and reading the backs of the DVD cases
  • Customers enjoyed the possibility of running into their neighbor
  • Customers liked picking up popcorn on the way out

Today, most of us would probably agree with Gary. “Here is the experience I like: Laying in the bed and pressing one button.”

Your customers aren’t on social media? Not true.

Video is just a fad? Not true.

Don’t worry about what your competitor is doing. Worry about what they’re not and fill the gap.
